About Us

Codependent Media was founded in 2019 by writer, actor, and producer Marisa Hood (this is not her writing this, no really it's not, stop looking at me) in an attempt to tell character driven, relatable stories with a classic indie film feel - and budget :). We also hope to God we make you laugh once in awhile. Our first short film, "Furca", simply follows two characters across a dining room table for 15 minutes and we were lucky and thankful enough to screen at over a dozen film festivals in 2020, happily and humbly receiving lovely feedback.

We have created 5 additional short films since then, having a wonderful festival run and are now in pre-production for 2 additional shorts as well as shakily writing one feature. We have also partnered and collaborated with dear friends at production companies Small/Tall Productions and GS Productions, creating short films "Lucy's Last Dance" and "Sweet Rose" as well as our first feature, "We're Bad At This", currently in post production.
